I haven't seen a EuroBasket post here and I couldn't believe no one's made one yet, so here you go. :)

Are any of you guys interested in watching? I know I am. I've been following the competition since it began.

August 31st - September 18th

For those of you that don't know, there were 24 teams in the beginning, divided into 4 groups. The top 3 from each group then advanced to the second round. Here are the standings of the first round:

GROUP A

Spain 4W - 1L
Lithuania 4W - 1L
Turkey 3W - 2L
Great Britain 2W - 3L
Poland 2W - 3L
Portugal 0W - 5L

GROUP B

France 5W - 0L
Serbia 4W - 1L
Germany 3W - 2L
Israel 2W - 3L
Italy 1W - 4L
Latvia 0W - 5L

GROUP C

F. Y. R. of Macedonia 4W - 1L
Greece 4W - 1L
Finland 2W - 3L
Croatia 2W - 3L
Bosnia and Herzegovina 2W - 3L
Montenegro 1W - 4L

GROUP D

Russia 5W - 0L
Slovenia 4W - 1L
Georgia 2W - 3L
Bulgaria 2W - 3L
Ukraine 2W - 3L
Belgium 0W - 5L

Groups A and B then merged into group E. And groups C and D into group F. The top 4 from these will then move on to the quarter-finals. After the first two days, the results and standings are:

GROUP E

Germany vs. Spain - 68 : 77
Turkey vs. France - 64 : 86
Serbia vs. Lithuania - 90 : 100

Spain vs. Serbia - 84 : 59
Germany vs. Turkey - 73 : 67
Lithuania vs. France - 67 : 73

Serbia vs. Turkey - 68 : 67
France vs. Spain - 69 : 96
Lithuania vs. Germany - 84 : 75

~~~~~~
Spain 4W - 1L
France 4W - 1L
Lithuania 3W - 2L
Serbia 2W - 3L
Turkey 1W - 4L
Germany 1W - 4L
GROUP F
Georgia vs. Macedonia - 63 : 65
Finland vs. Russsia - 60 : 79
Slovenia vs. Greece - 60 : 69
Georgia vs. Finland - 73 : 87
Macedonia vs. Slovenia - 68 : 59
Greece vs. Russia - 67 : 83
Slovenia vs. Finland - 67 : 60
Greece vs. Georgia - 73 : 60
Russia vs. Macedonia - 63 : 61
~~~~~

Russia 5W - 0L
Macedonia 4W - 1L
Greece 3W - 2L
Slovenia 2W - 3L
Finland 1W - 4L
Georgia 0W - 5L

So that means Spain, France, Lithuania, Serbia, Russia, Macedonia, Greece and Slovenia made it into the quarter-finals. Russia is the only team that remains unbeaten at this competition so far. Can they make it to the top? I personally don't think so, but who knows.

QUARTER-FINALS

UPCOMING MATCHES:

14. September

Spain vs. Slovenia
18:00 (EEST)

Macedonia vs. Lithuania
21:00 (EEST)

15. September

France vs. Greece
18:00 (EEST)

Russia vs. Serbia
21:00 (EEST)

I will be updating this with results and more upcoming matches.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So, I'd like to know if anyone is watching this and if you are, who are you rooting for?
Me? I'm rooting for Slovenia (obviously, sicne that's where I'm from), Lithuania and a few of the underdogs, like Georgia and Finland.
EDIT: Obviously, Georgia and Finland didn't make it through, so I'm basically rooting for Slovenia and Lithuania now. But seeing how Slovenia has no chance in hell of beating Spain, I really hope Lithuania wins this thing. But I personally think Spain will take the title again this year. They're just amazing, you gotta givem 'em that.
Here are some of the pictures, both photographs as well as Hetalia-related drawings with Paul, that I have saved throughout the World Cup - just wanted to share them... If you have anything to contribute, go ahead...
Goodbye Paul, we love you ♥
Since the Commonwealth Games start tommorrow, we need a information/viewing post.
Aren't sure what the Commonwealth Games are? Here's the Wikipedia page. Or if you don't feel like reading that, to sum it all up it's like the Olympics for the Commonwealth Nations, but instead of America kicking everyone's asses, it's Australia.
October 14th
CHECK THE SCHEDULE FOR TIMES AND WHOM ARE COMPETING
Judging from the post that was made last month, me and [info]mykonos2 decided to make a information/viewing post for the UEFA Euro 2012 Qualification that will start on the 11th August. There will be most likely only one post for the whole qualification since there are only 19 days spread over 16 month, with sometimes more than 20 games on the same day.
  Game Schedule
Day 01-05   11.08.2010 - 09.10.2010  || Results
Day 06-10   12.10.2010 - 29.03.2011  || Results
Day 11-15   03.06.2011 - 02.09.2011  || Results
Day 16-19   03.09.2011 - 11.10.2011  || Results
      All times will be stated in CET
09.10.2010
France - Romania
2-0
Israel - Croatia
1-2
Hey guys, I don't have the time to update the thread for todays matches hope you can forgive me, but I have to get things ready for my trip to England.
